Saturday April 28th : VA Creeper Trail Bike Ride
Join Us! As we Ride the VA Creeper Trail. All Ages, Bring your Bikes, Helmets, Water and Snacks.
Layered Clothing is recommended as the weather can change and it’s typically cooler when we start
Shuttle departs at 10 AM (Each family will need to make their own shuttle RESERVATIONS, info below)
Meet at the Bike Station in Damascus, Virginia between 9 & 9:30 AM.
This allows plenty of time to get the checked in, the bikes loaded on the trailer, restrooms breaks and get the van loaded and ready to depart promptly at 10 AM. The shuttle will take us up to White Top Station, where our ride will begin.
This is beautiful trail is relatively easy and has multiple places to stop and enjoy the scenery as we make our way back to Damascus. This is a leisurely ride, so allow plenty of time for rest stops and fun.
Each Family must make their own Shuttle Reservations:
The Recommended place to make your shuttle reservation is the Bike Station. They also rent bikes and other equipment.

May 19th: Horseback riding.
Meet at 9:30 am at Sugarland Riding Stables. We are looking at doing the 1 hour ride. Visit http://www.sugarlandsridingstables.com/ for pricing and directions. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch with you for afterwards we will picnic in the park.
Fri & Sat. June 22 & 23rd: Camping in the Cade Cove
Bring your tents and camping gear and join us in the group site at Cades Coves anytime after 3 pm on Friday 22nd.
Saturday June 23rd: Tubing in the Smokies
Meet at River Rat Tubing in Townsend (their main location) at 11 am. Afterwards we will enjoy a picnic lunch together at the picnic area, so don't forget your lunch. River Rat does have a small concession stand. Check their website for full details. http://smokymtnriverrat.com/
Saturday July 14th: It's Summer! Time for Dragon Boats. Meet at 11 am.
This year we are doing something a little different. Paddleboarding and Kayaking at Ijamn's Meade Quarry Lake. River Sports rents both paddleboards and kayak's by the hour. More details to come once they post their information for this summer.
Sunday August 26th: The Asian Festival, Market Square, Downtown Knoxville. Click here for more details, https://www.knoxasianfestival.com/

Camping and Tubing in the Smoky's: We had a great time camping at Cades Cove, the weather was great. Who knew it would be cool enough for a fire, but then again, smore's are a must !! After a brief rain early Saturday morning, the sun came out and we floated the river followed by a picnic lunch.
Moon Festival: A wonderful evening of food, fun, story time, lanterns and a full moon coming up over the lake. Check out Shutterfly for pictures.
2015 Year in Review
Unfortunately mother nature didn't agree with our plans for our first few events, but the rest of the year was great.
In May, families gathered at the Aqaurium of the Smokies, followed by snacks and an unplanned trip the Sugarlands Visitor center and a leisurely walk to Cataract Falls.
June was our annual Dragon Boat Festival. The kids designed their own dragon boats for racing down the river at Metcalf Bottoms in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
The Smokey Mountains was the theme for warm weather activities. In July, families went Tubing followed by a camping trip to Cades Cove.
September was our annual Moon Festival. Again, the weather wasn't so good, but the Moon did make an appearance before our night ended. Families brought pot luck dished to share. The kids made their own lanterns, listened to a popular story followed by their lantern parade thru The Cove at Concord Park. The Large Sky Lanterns were a hit again this year.
As the weather cooled down, we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. Families loaded the wagon for a trip the pumpkin patch. Armed with pumpkins, we made our way back. Some ventured through the corn maze while others toured the barn, bounced on the giant air pillow or went down a 80 foot slide.
The Liebenow's hosted a Halloween Party for families. Everyone brought snacks to share and enjoyed the evening together.
As this year comes to a close, it is great to look back at all we have done as a group. The connection we have as families is unlike any other.
